What to Put on Your Vision Board
We don’t like to see people getting tripped up by the vision-board creation process. This is like not wanting to step over a crack in the sidewalk outside a door filled with all of your dreams just a few steps away, and this is why we are so excited people are finding value in the Vision in Progress Box. A few stumbling blocks crossed off the comfort-zone list and you’re good to go! But now that the fear of adhesive permanence is gone, as well as the issue of where to keep your vision board, there still lingers within some individuals a sense that without a magazine that fits the bill with the “right” images we’re back to square one.
Start with the pictures in your MIND.
Think about what you want, then imagine what that looks like. For instance, you may think, “I want a better job that I enjoy with twice the income.” Good. Now imagine the details. How will your life look different? Will you live somewhere else? Will you have a new car? Will you travel more? Where? What will your office look like? Get these images sketched in your mind, and now you’ll know what images you’ll want in front of you to get your new story imprinted on your nonconscious brain.
Words take it to another level.
Affirmations are known to keep you on track with your goals, keeping you on the right course and in the right vibration to manifest what you want. Words can hold within them a lot of power and can increase the emotional response you get from your board. Think about how a simple change in title can make you feel like a million buck at work. Consider incorporating this concept onto your vision board. Let’s say your dream is to publish a novel. Wouldn’t it be exciting to see your name following the title? Imagine: “Author Christopher Wood.” Is it your soul mate you seek to find? Write up a list of the qualities you are looking for in that person. Symbols count in this category, too. Perhaps you want to incorporate more religion into your life; use that spiritual emblem on your board to imprint the importance of that aspect of your life onto your mind’s eye.
Trinkets bring you back (and forward).
If you have a seashell from your favorite beach destination that you’d like to own a home in, paste it on a piece of paper and put it on your vision board to get back to that happy place. A refrigerator magnet from a favorite destination will apply easily. How about a check written to YOU for the amount of money you want to receive in commissions from your job this year, or tickets to the concert you want to attend?
Your computer is your friend.
Chances are if you’re reading this article you have access to the Internet. And if you have access to the Internet you have every imaginable image at your fingertips. Just Google it! Is it an image of a large living space designed in a contemporary manner you’re after? Google “contemporary living room” and then click “images” so you only get images as results. Is it a dress to fit your new vacationing image? Google it! Relaxing on a hammock at the beach? You know where to find that image. And if you want to get VERY literal, cut and paste images of your own face over the faces of others in the images to make it that much more real for you. And don’t forget those words! If there are simple affirmations you want on your board, type ‘em, print’em, cut’em out. Make key words as profound as you want them to be.
The key to your success is how the images on your vision board resonate with you. Do you just love the story it is telling you so much you can practically taste it? If yes, then you’ve got it right! Your vision board is the story of your future. Write it, illustrate it and embellish it any way you want! Let’s start manifesting your dreams-you deserve it!
