GET OFF YOUR ASS!
Yes, right now! No, wait. Read this first. We want to make sure we communicate this fundamental “law” of the universe to you, the one you must know in order to make that thing happen, bring that person to you, or deliver that opportunity to your door. It’s called the Law of GOYA, which is “get off your ass,” and it is as much a fact now as it ever was in the thousands of years since man has been a part of this universe.
Check this out…
Two days ago I found myself thinking about some really cool people that have come into my life, and those on the list whose names I can no longer remember. There was one particularly great woman I knew 19 years ago that I had stuck in my mind. We had a few girls’ nights out after meeting through a friend and had a blast. It made me sad to think about how this great girl had vanished; no search engine in the world was going to tell me where she was without a entering a name in the search box.
The next day I was helping my daughter wrap a birthday gift for a friend. Usually I insist that she make a birthday card, but she begged me to give her a pre-made card to address. I had no birthday card to give her, but I remembered that I had a beautiful wooden box under my bed that had an old collection of stationery in it from years ago. I didn’t want to, but with my daughter’s eyes pleading at me I GOT OFF MY ASS and got on my hands and knees and sifted through more dust than I care to share. Once I found the box (and cleaned it off) I removed from it many packs of stationery, greeting card boxes, a few special pens, and even some business cards that must’ve meant something to me at some point. Then I spotted a tiny notebook that at first I didn’t remember ever seeing before, but then recognized as the book I used to keep in my purse in my twenties so I’d never get caught without paper. I opened it to the first page and found an address and phone number with a name that took me only a few moments to recognize—the very woman I had been racking my brain to remember just the day before, the woman I had known for just one short month almost 20 years ago.
Why you need to get off your ass—
Visualization and the Law of GOYA go hand in hand. As you sit in front of your vision board, day after day, what else are you doing that could move you toward those dreams so perfectly illustrated on your vision board? Let’s say you have an image of a new job on your vision board. You’ve done good so far—you’ve meditated to clear your mind, you’ve done your positive affirmations to override the negative self talk, and you’ve visualized that fantastic new job. You can have faith that the universe wants to bring you that job. It will move mountains to get the information you need, as quickly as it possibly can—along the right vibrational pathway—and deliver the contact you need.
HOWEVER, it is also a reality that a piece of paper isn’t going to fall into your lap with the exact job listing you want while you are still sitting in front of the vision board. The phone isn’t going to ring with a recruiter on the other end if your resume isn’t out there because you’re still sitting in front of your vision board. You aren’t even going to run into a friend who happens to know about a job opening if you are still sitting in front of your vision board. The Law of Attraction may feel like magic, but it’s not the kind of magic with a genie in a bottle and your dream car materialized in front of you. This is your wake up call to TAKE ACTION. ANY kind of action.
What happened to me yesterday is what non-believers may call “a big coincidence,” but it’s what we LOAers know to be true. When you focus your thoughts and put the magnificent search engine of your brain to work—and GET OFF OUR ASS—the universe finds a way to deliver the result. So remember: stay focused, keep moving, and get out there so the universe can deliver.
Ps: Within just four hours of discovering her name in the dusty box under my bed, my long-lost friend and I were exchanging wonderful email messages!

What to Put on Your Vision Board
We don’t like to see people getting tripped up by the vision-board creation process. This is like not wanting to step over a crack in the sidewalk outside a door filled with all of your dreams just a few steps away, and this is why we are so excited people are finding value in the Vision in Progress Box. A few stumbling blocks crossed off the comfort-zone list and you’re good to go! But now that the fear of adhesive permanence is gone, as well as the issue of where to keep your vision board, there still lingers within some individuals a sense that without a magazine that fits the bill with the “right” images we’re back to square one.
Start with the pictures in your MIND.
Think about what you want, then imagine what that looks like. For instance, you may think, “I want a better job that I enjoy with twice the income.” Good. Now imagine the details. How will your life look different? Will you live somewhere else? Will you have a new car? Will you travel more? Where? What will your office look like? Get these images sketched in your mind, and now you’ll know what images you’ll want in front of you to get your new story imprinted on your nonconscious brain.
Words take it to another level.
Affirmations are known to keep you on track with your goals, keeping you on the right course and in the right vibration to manifest what you want. Words can hold within them a lot of power and can increase the emotional response you get from your board. Think about how a simple change in title can make you feel like a million buck at work. Consider incorporating this concept onto your vision board. Let’s say your dream is to publish a novel. Wouldn’t it be exciting to see your name following the title? Imagine: “Author Christopher Wood.” Is it your soul mate you seek to find? Write up a list of the qualities you are looking for in that person. Symbols count in this category, too. Perhaps you want to incorporate more religion into your life; use that spiritual emblem on your board to imprint the importance of that aspect of your life onto your mind’s eye.
Trinkets bring you back (and forward).
If you have a seashell from your favorite beach destination that you’d like to own a home in, paste it on a piece of paper and put it on your vision board to get back to that happy place. A refrigerator magnet from a favorite destination will apply easily. How about a check written to YOU for the amount of money you want to receive in commissions from your job this year, or tickets to the concert you want to attend?
Your computer is your friend.
Chances are if you’re reading this article you have access to the Internet. And if you have access to the Internet you have every imaginable image at your fingertips. Just Google it! Is it an image of a large living space designed in a contemporary manner you’re after? Google “contemporary living room” and then click “images” so you only get images as results. Is it a dress to fit your new vacationing image? Google it! Relaxing on a hammock at the beach? You know where to find that image. And if you want to get VERY literal, cut and paste images of your own face over the faces of others in the images to make it that much more real for you. And don’t forget those words! If there are simple affirmations you want on your board, type ‘em, print’em, cut’em out. Make key words as profound as you want them to be.
The key to your success is how the images on your vision board resonate with you. Do you just love the story it is telling you so much you can practically taste it? If yes, then you’ve got it right! Your vision board is the story of your future. Write it, illustrate it and embellish it any way you want! Let’s start manifesting your dreams-you deserve it!

Vision Boards for People without a Vision
Want something? Make a vision board! Need something? Make a vision board! Wanna fix something in your life? Make a vision board! Need a change but have no clue what that change should be? [Insert crickets here.]
It’s one thing to have a specific high-income goal, know you want to be in a relationship, or to already feel the liberation of the slinky dress you’ll don when those pesky 40 pounds come off. That vision in progress is “in the box” and ready for focus! But it’s a whole different ball game for Law of Attraction followers who know that something in their life needs to change but a specific goal eludes them. As LOAers, we’re taught that we need to focus on images and visualize the manifestation of our goals. If a vision board is the tool to get us there, then a vision board must be useless to the undecided, right? Wrong. On the contrary, a vision board can be the very tool you need to get you the clarity you’re looking for.
We first heard about this concept in John Assaraf’s The Vision Board Book. In the book he describes something called an “opening and allowing” vision board. Crediting Christine Kane of the Uplevel Academy with the concept, the book describes this type of vision board as being great for those who are unsure of their goals, for those coming out of a period of depression or grief, or for those who have a vision of what they want but there’s some aspect of it that is unclear.
All you need to do is dedicate some time to collecting images that speak to you in some way. As you find pictures that make you smile or stir you, add them to your Vision in Progress Box. Spend time with your images and relax. Let the messages of the universe get to you. Trust the process, and eventually you will get the clarity you need.
True story: My husband recently found himself stuck in a muddle. Suddenly thrown into become our family’s home manager and needing to decide what kind of job to look for, he was lost and feeling despondent so late in his career “life.” He didn’t know what to do. When he heard about the concept of the Opening and Allowing vision board he took it to heart, and within a week of compiling the items for his Vision in Progress Box he came up with an incredible business idea that is not only unique, but serves his inner purpose of helping heal the world as well. Now he’s a man with a mission!
Sending vibrations of love, positivity, and abundance,
